The Carillon was gifted to the U.S. in 1954 from the Netherlands, for our help in World War II. It's an elegant steel tower with 50 bells that play Westminster Chimes every hour. Visitors can climb a staircase to an observatory deck partway up the Carillon, or wander the surrounding plaza and gaze on the thousands of tulips planted there. It is located on the banks of the Potomac River, at the northern end of Arlington National Cemetery.
Bells sound on the hour, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
